Please join us for the Waltzing With the Yakima Youth Symphony on March 23, 2012 from 7 to 10 pm. A fun and elegant evening of dancing with live orchestral music including Waltz and Swing at the Harman Center at Gailleon Park, Yakima, WA. Special guests include the Naches Jazz Band and dance instruction by Dance Syndicate. The event also includes amazing desserts and a silent auction of items donated by our local business community. Tickets $15.00 per person. All proceeds support the Yakima Youth Symphony. Support our youth and have fun too! Please email yyso.yes@gmail.com for tickets or more information.

I am trying to find out information on a summer program for my 6 year old granddaughter. We were at Kissel Park last summer and there was a group of kids and they said you need to sign up in the spring? Where do i do that?

The 4th annual Naches Jazz Band Swing Dance will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Harman Center in Yakima. This annual eent features live music by the Naches Valley High School Jazz Band, an amazing group of musicians who hve received top scores in all of their performance competitions. The evening begins at 7pm with swing dance lessons provided by a dance instructor for anyone who is interested in learning how to swin dance. Then, at 8:00pm the actual danc will begin with the jazz band sharing the big sounds of jazz and swing for all to enjoy. Whether you’re a swing dancer or just really enjoy good jazz music, this event is for you. Refreshments will be provided, featuring a chocolate fountain! A silent auction will be held throughout the night with some amazing prizes up for bid. Tickets re $10/singles or $17 for couples. All proceeds from this event go to support the Naches High School Music Program, who are planning a trip to Whilster Canada later this spring for a music competition.

We will be hosting a film showing of The Business of Being Born at the Princess Theater on April 2, 2011, during our 2nd Annual Natural Health & Birth Fair in Prosser (from 10-6, less than a block from the theater). Yes, unfortunately Cascades Women’s Healthcare is closed as of Jan 31, 2011. I am very disappointed. Sue Dennis and Dr Smigaj will be missed! There are a lot of us now who must find new providers.
