Day Trips from Yakima – Kennewick

Kennewick is one of the three cities that make up the Tri-Cities area. Richland and Pasco are the other two.  The area has a “bigger city” feel to it with a lot of amenities and things you can’t find in Yakima. It’s not Seattle/ Tacoma, but you can get there within an hour and the drive is mellow.

There’s a pathway that runs along the river, it’s perfect for roller-blading, walking or bicycling. When we were there, it was cold and windy so we didn’t walk. We did have a beautiful dinner at Zinful Wine Bar and Panini Grill followed by a night of Comedy at Jack Didley’s.  We returned to the hotel then, for a midnight swim and in the morning we enjoyed the most delicious breakfast buffet EVER.  We’d definitely stay at this Kennewick hotel again. I was so excited to see that TripAdvisor reviewers (who are plain travelers like you and I) voted this hotel #1 in Kennewick.

Best Western Kennewick Hotel

The hotel even had conditioner. For a long-haired person, that's really impressive :)

We used some special lens thing and some serious alteration of settings to compress this image. Ok, he did all that while I sat in the car shivering, but it was my idea to go take this picture. That counts for something, right?
